19 week U/S and Ob appt.

Well today marks 19 weeks!! YEAH!! Half way there!! (we get to induce at 38 if I haven't had them yet). Kristina and Pierre sent me a really sweet gift to celebrate the half way mark. Its a necklace with a giving tree emblem on it with a sweet little note. They are so giving themselves I feel like what I'm doing isn't anything. LOL

On to the appt, we had our first 4D u/s today, it was great. My good friend Melissa got to go with me today, it was her first time seeing the babies on u/s and her first time seeing the 4D. My OB has the 4D machine in his office and I always look forward to this appt, because this is when they start using the 4D part. The babies are getting so big!! And yes they are both boys for sure!!! We got pictures to prove it!! LOL they sure aren't shy!! LOL Baby A is breech though :-( and Baby B is head down. But we have plenty of time to get A to flip around. They both looked nice and comfy and cuddled up in there. Baby A had his face and body cuddled up to the membrane. It was hard to get good pictures of him, but Julie the tech that I just adore was able to get a few. Baby B was cuddled up to Baby A's back but he isn't as camera shy!! He lived up to his reputation so far as being the wild one moving all around, at times it was hard to get good pics of him becuase he is such a mover and a shaker! They are both adorable!! See the pics below. I have 21 so I just picked some of the best ones. I hope you can figure them out. To me I can see them right away but as Julie said I have had lots of practice LOL. Kristina got to be on the phone with me the whole time during the U/S. She couldn't be here today so that was the next best thing I guess! LOL I think she enjoyed it!

Dr. Chadwick said I was doing great. The babies are weighing 10 oz (baby A) and 11 1/2 oz (baby B) they were measuring 19 weeks (a) and 19w1d (b) which he said was wonderful right on target. He even commented that I don't have a very big stomach, and after the growth I have had in the last week or two I was happy to hear that!! :-) I gained some weight which I guess is good but I don't believe his scale, I will weigh on mine in the morning because I like mine better and I just know my clothes had to have weighed at least 5 pds today LOL. He said we will try to make it to another 4 weeks before he sees me but if I have any problems to call and I can come in. Then I will go to every 2 weeks I think. Maybe 1 more month of every 4 weeks. I can't remember from the last twins. No u/s next time though. So it will just be a boring one. I have to see his partner that is pretty new this next time. He looks like he is 12!! But they like you to see them all just incase someone else has to deliver you so you feel a little more comfy at least having met the dr first. I would be so sad if Chadwick didn't make it though. Although the nurse did deliver Ella because she came so fast. His office is connected to the hospital, but when she was ready she was ready and Mona the nurse had to grab her LOL. He came once she was in the warmer and finished up!!

So today was a great day!! Melissa and I were starving so we went to 54th street grill and had burgers!! They were YUMMO!! I had to bring my other half home I was so stuffed after eating chips and dip!! I leave in a little over 2 weeks to go and spend the weekend with Kristina and Pierre, I can't wait! We will have another u/s that they will get to be there for (at one of those little places that just do those 4D u/s). So that will be really exciting to get to see them experience their babys up close!!

Belly Pics 18 weeks

Hello there! I will be 18 weeks tomorrow so I thought I would take a few more pics. I think I have really started to poouch out lately. I am at that uncomfortable stage now. I was doing fine until a few days ago, and now its getting harder to breathe and trying to get comfortable is a thing of the past!! LOL I am moving all around on the couch, or in a chair or in the car where ever I am I'm squirming in my seat trying to get comfy. Oh and excuse the tv in the background of the pictures my son took them while we were watching a movie!!

The boys are still moving around. Not a whole lot but I have felt them a little more today. They still don't have much of an appetite like my last twins I had did. I use to eat ALL the time with those two and so far that hasn't kicked in with these two. If anything I have less of an appetite. I eat like I should but I just don't eat a whole lot. Its more smaller portions a few times a day. But they never go hungry! :-)

I am recovering from our trip. My legs are feeling better, still a little sore on when going up and down the steps but much better than they were early last week. All that walking around about killed me! :-)

Kristina and Pierre purchased my tickets to come and see them in November!! I can't wait for them to see my belly in person and actually get to touch it. Hopefully the boys will show off for mom and dad by then so they can actually feel them. We are going to have a spa day on Saturday, so of course I am SOOOO excited for that I LOVE getting massages. Friday night we will have the 4D u/s so they can see the boys up close!! Instead of always in pictures I send them from our u/s's.

We have our next OB appt one week from tomorrow! I will be 19 weeks and we will find out for SURE these are boys. I will be SHOCKED if they aren't!! K and P are working on figuring out names right now. They have a few they like, but nothing set in stone! I can't wait to hear the final choices!!

Trip to Savannah and exciting news!!

My friends and I got back about 8pm last night from our trip to Savannah!! We had SO much fun. Its such a beautiful city! Its a definite for anyone planning a vacation and not to sure where to go. Hilton Head and Tybee Island are very close by for a full week of fun in the sun. Here is a link to some pictures we took on our trip http://www.picturetrail.com/hoffmannfamily. Also while we were eating dinner with our friend Catherine and her family I felt the boys move for the first time. It was just a few little flutters on the right side but it was for sure them. I called Kristina when we got back to the hotel and she was so excited to hear about it. :-) I have felt them a couple other times now but not a whole lot yet. I'm sure they will "kick" into full gear in the next few weeks.

I am going to visit Kristina and Pierre and Elle, in November so hopfully by then they will be able to feel them kicking all around!! I know Kristina will love that!! :-)

Not much new and some belly pics...

Nothing to exciting going on around here. Pregnancy has been uneventfully thankfully. Except for these awful headaches which I have now. I get migrains when I'm not pregnant and they are horrible, but when you can't take anything for them and they just go on and on it really sucks! But I have just learned to deal with them now. I can't been down and out these days so I justh have to "man up" as Dustin would say or I guess I would be "woman up" LOL!!

I have a few pictures of my 16week belly to show ya, I have to compare to last time once these are posted so I can see if I have grown. I really don't feel pregnant. Well sometimes I guess depending on the way I am sitting my belly gets in the way and when i'm at work I do, but its been SO wonderful this time around not to be SOOOO huge!! Unless I am remembering wrong I was bigger last time with the twins. So this has been wonderful. God was really listening when I didn't think he was. You know those unanswered prayers that the song sings about. I prayed so hard that it would only be one because the first set of twins was SOOOO hard, i was SOOO miserable. I didn't want to go through that again I wanted my last pregnancy to be enjoyable. Well when we found out it was twins I didn't think HE had heard me all those times begging for just one, but turns out he DID hear me He has just given me a really easy pregnancy. :-) PLUS Kristina and Pierre get TWO beautiful babies instead of just one!! :-) We both turned out to be

blessed by God!

On a side note some friends of mine and I are going on a girls trip this weekend. I am SOOOO excited. I can't wait to get away. I have been taking care of my niece and nephew a lot lately and I LOVE them with all my heart like they are my own, but now I know what mothers of more than one mean when they need a break!! LOL I always thought that was such a cop out, but now I understand! :-) So we are going to Savannah, GA. Not sure how that came up as an option to choose from, but it did and I can't wait!! Its a very historical town and we have a couple tours linned up. We are also meeting another Surrogate friend of ours while there. She lives in Savannah. She is just the sweetest thing I can't wait to see her again!! She is picking us up from the airport and spending the day with us Saturday. Oh and my two good friends that are going with me are also Surrogates. One has had two pregancies, twins and a singelton, and the other is in the early statges of getting started with her IPs. So its going to be a great Surro weekend!! LOL Big Melissa as I call her now, although she isn't big in the ROUND since, just the TALL since (she is 6ft) and I have been friends for about 6 or 7 years and Little Melissa (she's very short at about 5'2 I think, hence the names big and little Melissa, Big Melissa doesn't really care for the name LOL) her and I have been friends for a year or so now. We all live here in the same town and do everything together these days, church, dinner, walks (i joined before I got pregnant and lazy now they go alone LOL), and everything else in between. So we are all excited to get away together and have a good time!! I will post pics when I get home!!
